Men’s Perfumes worth trying

Hey Hey Hey!

How’s it going? 🙂
I hope you’ve been well while I’ve been up and about looking for some perfumes to be suggesting to you 😀 so without further ado, here they are:

(By the way, these are not ranked ok? Just a list I’ve compiled)

Ralph Lauren – Polo Blue for men

Let us please take a moment to appreciate all the goodness that RL has brought into this world….. Be it in clothes, accessories, perfumes, anything! So, it comes as no surprise that Polo Bluea scent by them is among the best perfumes I’ve ever gotten to try.

If you haven’t tried it yet, please do. It is that typical ‘Sunday-Brunch’ sort of cool and casual fragrance which has a sophisticated edge to it. Would you want to wear it to a usual day at work? Oh yes you would!

It is an eau de toilette and despite that, I’ve personally tried it and seen that it lasts for more than 8 hours. Any downsides, you ask? Well, for some people, it could pass off as a little too mild. Other than that, BIG thumbs up. 🙂

Calvin Klein –  Eternity for men

Now, I’m hoping you know about this one, because if you don’t, I want you to stop reading this blog Right Now, and go find yourself a bottle and try it out. I swear.

But jokes apart, after CK launched this perfume, it was SUCH a massive success that many variations to the basic one have been launched since. Don’t get me wrong, but I honestly think the original one has been the nicest yet. Eternity men

As for a description, Eternity is that perfume that you spray a little bit of in the morning and come home after a long day to realise ‘Oh! The scent is still on my clothes.’ And by that, I mean that it’s a through-the-day kind of scent and if you aren’t sweating too much or involved in some crazy activity that is bound to scrub off the perfume, Eternity is a good choice.

However, I must admit that while a Polo Blue can take some amount of outdoors, Eternity is not exactly what you’d want when you’re in the sun. Not that there’s anything wrong with it but just that it’s a little too subtle and sauve for action of that sort. Big meeting coming up with an important client? Eternity – yes. Daughter’s Sports Day where you’re going to be in the bleachers cheering for her? Eternity – No.

That is to say – overall, for a sophisticated, classy, subtly beautiful scent – Thumbs up.

Hugo Boss – The Scent

Okay. Okay. I’ll be honest. I only went to try out this perfume because Theo James was the model. But it took me quite by surprise and the people at the store were very happy when I landed up picking up a big bottle for my dad. Hugo Boss - scent 2

I’ve never quite been someone who liked HB’s scents but my! my! The Scent, changed that perception of mine. Unlike most of its predecessors, The Scent isn’t ‘in-your-face’. If you know what I mean. Sure, it is sort of strong, but not garish.

If I had to describe the perfume, it is cinnamon-y, mixed with a little bit of musk. It reminded me of very earthy, forest-y smells. In all, it is like a mixture of a lot of things you know, but can’t quite pin-point.

Coming to how long it lasts, this one is a slight let down in that category alone. Indoors, it lasts for about 5-6 hours and outdoors, not more than 4. But this is the perfect scent to be caught wearing for sober yet happy occasions like a best friend’s wedding or even maybe the launch of a new product by your company. In all, thumbs up.

Drakkar Noir

I guess this is one THE go to party perfume and has been, for quite a while. Dark, strong yet not suffocating, the Drakkar Noir is one good investment, even if you aren’t someone who is out partying too often. Drakkar Noir

Set aside the hamartia that you can not wear this during the day (I mean, unless you’re one of those rebels who will, just because!), the perfume by itself has a tendency to remind you of the night. The closest I can think of in terms of sound, for this scent is – the chirping of crickets. When you hear it, the general tendency is to associate it with a silent night with a light breeze bustling through the leaves….. right? (I could be the weirdo here, but yeah) This perfume is the smell version of this analogy.

However, one Crazy good thing about this perfume is that it has an amazing longevity – in terms of the number of years it lasts for (not the scent itself, but the bottle). I know someone who has had a bottle of this for at least 5 years already and the liquid is just as it was when he bought it.

As for one small boo-hoo point? The scent stays but starts waning after a while…. So if you’re at a New Year’s countdown, your clothes are most likely to stop smelling of the perfume by 3 am or so; while the scent clings to your body well into the brunch the next morning.

So that’s it for now folks! I have a whole other bunch of perfumes to tell you about. If you have liked this, please let me know in the comments below. Also, if you want to know any more about some of my personal faavourites, you know what to do.

City Life

Hey there!

I can’t quite believe that I’m back at typing another post so soon, already, but I don’t mind it at all, and I hope you don’t too!

Well, many of us already know this, but not all of us always take time to appreciate the absolute melting pots of culture our cities are, today. From the way we speak, eat, dress, live, even think! – all of this is affected by a set of multi-faceted dimensions, thanks to our metropolitan cities.

Well, it comes as no surprise, but here are some random shots of cities I have been to – which have left me in awe of the world that we live in. And I’m calling them, city life 🙂

Well, here is what I had to share.

I know this isn’t like most of my other posts, but all these images are mine and not anyone else’s. And the point I’d like to drive home? Simply that all of us have beauty all around us. It’s just that most of us don’t take time to appreciate it.

Here’s to finding the beauty in the most random places and moments.

Until next time,

Keep Calm and Be Fashionable

I’m Back :D
